Many Content Management Systems are prone to producing coding errors
Content Management Systems are brilliant for non-technical people to make changes on a website, BUT 99% of them produce many errors in the code and make the pages inaccessible to those with disabilities.
The good news is our CMS isn’t like that – ours is easy to use AND it produces error free code AND complies with accessibility standards.
With our professional Content Management System you can expect to get these attributes:
Easy to use for non-geeks – non technical people.
Able to add or change text and images.
The ability to add new pages. (Automatic navigations – add a page anywhere and it’s updated everywhere).
For these changes to be carried out on any computer, in any location, without any special software – change your website as you surf!
Have a powerful template system for complete separation of content and layout, so the page structure is not ruined by inexperienced or careless staff.
Able to organize different groups of people to access and update certain pages, but not all pages. (Detailed permissions – create editor groups, approve content, and see an audit trail, also login history).
Preview changes before publishing.
Track versions, and compare differences between them.
Can easily add extra functionality, like You Tube video, Flash support, search, RSS, Google directions/Maps.
Since recording this video, we have changed the Content Management System we use. The reason for this was, although we were able to adapt it to be accessible we were unable to reduce the weight of bloated code.
Further considerations for choosing a Content Management System:
Our Content Management System produces friendly URLs for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and it also produces error-free, validated code that is fully accessible and doesn’t discriminate against disabilities – many Content Management systems do NOT do this.
Do not accept what a professional website design company tells you on face value, you need to check these things out by using independent on-line checkers.
See the accessibility checker page.
No obligation mobile friendliness check of an existing website.
Legally a website should now be accessible to all and not discriminate against disabilities.
